John McCaw supplied the photographs and has a link with Portglenone as his Grandfather was born and raised here. He also has relatives still living in the area, particularly Innishrush. John now lives in White Oak, Pennsylvania, USA, but has been to Portglenone quite a few times. John's late father, Maj.Robert T. McCaw, took the photographs while flying over Portglenone during the Second World War as he was a pilot in the US Army Air Corp 440Th. Troop Carrier Group.
