County Antrim Youth Session 6th May
Message from our County Antrim Youth Officer:
As you are all aware, the County Antrim Fleadh will be held in Toomebridge from the 6th - 8th May 2016.
As County Youth Officer for CCE, I would be very keen to encourage youth sessions, especially in the run-up to the fleadh. This should inspire young musicians whilst building upon interest for the forthcoming fleadh.
As you all are important contacts for your local branches, I am requesting your assistance, both in informing the musicians regarding the time, date, etc. of the session and indeed, to encourage a large turnout.
The first county youth session will be held in Toome House, Toomebridge on Friday 1st April at 7.30pm.
I would envisage this to be a very enjoyable event where the younger musicians can have a tune and a bit of craic with their friends. Parents will also be welcome to stay and enjoy the music, whilst having a cup of tea and a chat!
Please spread the word regarding the 1st April session and encourage as many of our members to attend as is possible. It is expected that musicians from each Comhaltas branch in the county will be present and there will also be a very big Fáilte to all the Youth Officers.
The Youth Session at the weekend of the fleadh will be on Saturday 7th May, 3pm, at 'Lillypops' on the main street in Toome.
We have musicians of the highest calibre in our youth CCE and we are looking forward to hosting them in Toome over the coming months.
